Loved this Hotel

This hotel was great, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. I stayed in a business suite, which had a bedroom, bathroom, and living area. The bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was very modern. I only ate breakfast at the hotel, and I liked the buffet. It changed slightly from day to day. Some items were staples, such as cereal, bacon, eggs, and hot dogs. They also served fruit and vegetables, as well as yummy croissants and pastries. My room had radiator heat, so you can’t adjust the temperature. I found the whole hotel to be rather hot, but at least the windows in the room opened. The desk could use a lamp, too! The phone in my room didn’t work, and the front desk told me that wasn’t their problem. However, in all other respects, they were very helpful to me, and quite a few of them spoke English, which is good since my Russian isn’t that good. The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the Metro station. I rather enjoyed that walk through the residential areas. I never felt unsafe, even after dark. It is about a 20 minute ride to Red Square. I like riding the Metro, so I enjoyed the long ride. I also liked the quiet location, and there are banks near by, as well as small stores for buying water, soda, etc.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Don’t miss Red Square and the Kremlin, including the Armoury. The Romanov Chambers, not far from Red Square, are great. If you like zoos, you will like the Moscow Zoo. The Tretyakov Gallery is another place not to be missed. Kolomenskoye Park, with its beautiful churches and buildings, is a gem. And if you have time, just ride the Metro and hop off at various stations to see how they are decorated. I recommend Novoslobodskaya Statyion with its stained glass panels.

pretty far from the metro station

For a city like Moscow you must use metro to get somewhere and this place is pretty far away from the metro station, except that i was satisfied with everything

Great Little Hotel

This hotel is one of Moscow’s better kept secrets. Much better than I expected. Friendly staff, nice breakfast, and free Wi-Fi.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Use the nearby Metro for getting around.

Great value, but hard to find

This hotel was excellent value. It is only a 20 minute metro ride then a 10 minute walk from the centre of town. But as with other reviewers, I had a lot of trouble finding it (and don’t use Googlemaps as it has the wrong location!). Once discovered, though, it is clean, cheap, the staff are friendly and there are services nearby.

Good if you don’t want to spend a fortune

Budget accomodations, a good deal. Nice breakfast. The area is good, but kind of far from the center and dark at night. Telefone services and mini bar are not expensive at all. (other hotels charge far more)

Good room for the price

We were pleased with our experience with this hotel. A bit tricky to find the first time - had to take a taxi. Walked to the metro every time after that. When we needed access to a computer, they sent us just down the road to another of their hotels, where we were able to pay a small fee for a 1/2 hour session. They offered a fabulous breakfast buffet that carried us through most of the day. Adequate beds & shower.

Excellent place to stay

Close to metro station. Very clean and nice hotel in a decent and quiet area. Quite far from the center though, but easy to get by metro. It has a few local shops and pharmacy around so you can buy necessary supplies. Great lobby area with a bar. MAJOR DOWNSIDE: NO FREE INTERNET IN ROOMS!!! Free WiFi internet was only provided in the lobby area where it was very slow. Internet in rooms was offered at an outrageous rate of $35/day or somewhere $17/hour. Other than that staff was very helpful.

Moscow!!!!!!!!!!!

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, the hotel had NO hot water all the time i was there, there attitude was it’s not a problem find the housekeeper and ask her for a bucket of hot water!! not a lot of use when the room only had a shower cubicle. The hotel is located in a poor area of Moscow and take 30 to 40 minutes on the Metro to get to Red Square. I will not be recommending this area or this hotel to my friends or indead my enemys.

Do not want to go back here again!

The hotel itself it not that bad, it is good if you need to be close to the VVC exhibition center. Problem is that there is no where else to eat apart from the hotel restaurant that is not more than half an hour away by metro, or even a few hours in a taxi! If you have to eat there stick with either the roast chicken or the salmon. The service in the restaurant is very lousy, with the waiters and waitresses very stern. On one occasion I ordered food from the lobby bar, and was told it was going to be a 45 minute wait for a sandwich (the restaurant was very busy), and that I should go up to the restaurant. On arriving at the restaurant, and seeing only a few tables in there, I am not sure as to why the wait for a sandwich would be so long. My other issue was with the wi-fi access. This is only possible in the downstairs lobby bar, and you have to pay an hourly rate for it! This seems very steep, and as the lobby bar is not that big, and gets noisy during the evenings, not the best place to be doing work. .All in all, not a bad place to stay if only for a fleeting visit. The rooms were OK, and were cleaned daily, and the rooms also contained mini-bars, which were also regularly replenished. There is a metro station 5 minutes walk away from the hotel, but the directions given by reception were very unhelpful!

Traveller's tip on local attractions

If you are going to use a taxi to get anywhere it will take ages!! It took me up to 3 hours to get into the centre of Moscow.

Good location

The hotel is a 5-10 minute walk from Vladykino metro station (on the grey line) which is about 10 mins on the train from the circle line that goes right around Moscow. (The hotel signpost from the metro inidcates the general direction but it’s good to ask a local). The hotel staff were friendly and the buffet breakfast good. The room was basic but clean and comfortable with CNN & BBC World on the TV.
