Comfortable apartment
We enjoyed our stay. The apartments are slightly difficult to find unless you know they are just round the corner from the U-Barn. The taxi we were in went back and forth. The apartment was great for the four of us (2 adults, 2 children). We bought a 15 euro pass each day for the family which means you can use all the excellent public transport in the city to visit see the great museums and galleries.

Very pleased
Location turned out to be great. Some lovely local restaurants, but an underground station nearby to go further. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely large appartments. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
Heading towards city centre - a good local small Italian, a new Indian (with huge decorative parasols), a Thai/Sushi... All excellent food. Go to Potsdam to explore the town and some of the palaces - fascinating. Open-top bus tour is excellent - make sure it goes to the Charlottenburg area

Great place to stay
Second visit to HSH,Mitte, following a great time a year ago. The location, very close to Zinnowitzerstrasse Ubahn is ideal for getting quickly to anywhere in Berlin. Short walk leads to Oranienburger Strasse with its many restaurants bars theatres and onwards to Friedrichstrasse and Checkpoint Charlie and so much more. Be sure to go up the Fehrnseturm (TV Tower) and see the circular view of Berlin from 600 feet up. Order the headset to hear commentary and full explanation of the sights before you on each of the 19 viewing areas around the tower. This is the best way to see and learn everything about Berlin and its history. The HSH apartments are very big with full kitchen facilities and largelounge with DVD. radio and cd player. The bedrooms are also large and comfortable. If you are at the streetside of the hotel there is an enclosed balcony with comfortable chairs and a table and a great view along Invalidenstrasse. If you are at the back the view is of the garden, very nice indeed. There is a fitness area for those feeling energetic and free use of computers in the hallway. The staff here are very welcoming and helpful, amongst the best I have ever encountered. Breakfast is very good with great German bread and rolls and meats. Hot food is egg served in various styles and there is a good choice of juices yoghurts etc. When in Berlin this is where I will stay, for sure.
Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks
A day ticket from the machine at the Ubahn is only 6 euros per adult and less for seniors and children. This allows travel anywhere in Berlin and area on train bus or tram, terrific value for money.
