friendly hotel
We enjoyed our time in this hotel although we had to ask for a room change. We were put at the front of the hotel and were unable to sleep due to traffic noise especially emergency vehicle sirens all night! However we were quickly given a room change when we complained, maybe they are used to people requesting a change. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the room comfortable and the breakfast tasty. Beware that this hotel is not near the centre, ok if you like walking.

Nice Hotel, Not Great Location
When staying in foreign cities I like hotels away from the city center in a residential neighborhood. I was hoping the Avenue Hotel would fill this need, unfortunately it did not. The location is nearly residential, but not quite there. It is located on a very busy street. Neighborhood restaurants/bars are many blocks away. It is three blocks away from a Metro stop, but the Copenhagen Metro is not that extensive, so the Avenue Hotel winds up being too isolated from many sites. The first room I was given was on the first floor in the front of the hotel and it felt like I’d be sleeping in the middle of the street outside. But the staff was very helpful when I requested a different room and go a much better room on the 3rd floor in the back. The hotel itself is reasonably nice for the price. Clean rooms, the 2nd room I got was quite large, free wifi, the staff was nice. Two downsides were that the TV was out of date and the breakfast buffet, while nice, did not include any hot items. All in all it was an OK stay, but if I did it over again I’d try another hotel to find a neighborhood with more charm.

Very good hotel for price.
Hotel is a little off the main central area, maybe a 10-15 minute walk. Hotel staff were efficient and friendly, and cleanliness was fine. We had a room overlooking the main road which was quite noisy, ask for one at the back of the hotel, where there was no traffic to be heard. Outside garden/decking was really nice for a drink in the evening. Overall, very good value for money.
