Great October Break
Lovely hotel in Alicante’s old town, 1min from promenade, 3mins from beach and marina, and lots of bars/eateries nearby make this the place to stay for a short break in Alicante. The only negative points (and I’m being really picky) were the lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room, and it was slightly too noisy in the rooms facing the main road, despite double glazing.
For food try the street at the back of the hotel, Calle Mayor. Marina for tapas/drinks.

Enjoyable stay
The hotel is very near the beach and reasonably priced restaurants. The shopping centre is nearby, a walk of about 10 mins. My only concern was the bathroom. The shower was very strange with no lighting, which was ok but getting in and out of the shower, which was over the bath, was quite problematical. They had put handrails for assistance but I would imagine someone not very agile may have problems getting in and out. The shower itself, once in there, is very good. There were some lovely touches in the room in respect of books about sleep and the towels were lovely and plentiful. They also provided robes and slippers for the indoor pool (small but nice).

can’t wait to stay in another Hospes hotel
Very courteous staff,prompt service, very clean. Nicely located in the centre of the city and 5 mins walk to the esplanda and the beach. However, swimming pool is not big and not heated.
