Clean, cheap
The room was clean and cheap. Walls thin. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not much else to say.

Needs Improvement
Travelodge is apparently not a name that means quality. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to downtown Eureka and its price (among the cheapest in town). However, I think half the going rate would be closer to a fair price. There wasnt anything precisely wrong with the place, but it didnt feel exactly safe or secure. With a homeless shelter within three blocks, there were a lot of transients in the area. Nor did it have the appearance of being particularly clean. I actually wore flip flops in the shower so as to avoid contracting athletes foot or worse. Furthermore, the sign in the lobby detailed the policy about visitors: none whatsoever in the room. Apparently they have problems with overnight guests? Or teenage parties? Who knows, but when the rules are entire paragraphs, it leaves one with an unsavory feeling. That said, nothing occurred that would prevent me from staying here again, though nothing enticed me to return. In fact, I will likely avoid Travelodge as a name in the future.
