Nice Hotel
The Antares Hotel is located in a lovely, quiet, residential area of Bratislava and a short walk to the historic center of the city. The outdoor garden is peaceful and relaxing. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Our room was clean and spacious with a nice view of the garden below. Negative: The bathroom didnt have a shower curtain or enclosure and it was quite difficult trying to shower without spraying water all over the floor.

nice, clean, simple place a 15 min walk from the city center
we made reservations here at the last minute and were very satisfied. the hotel is clean and compact and is relatively close to the city center -- about a 10/15 minute walk. the european breakfast is simple but adequate. free internet access in the lobby and a very nice receptionist who will try to help with questions (she suggested places to go out at night, where to buy a plug adapter, methods to get to vienna in the morning, etc.). they also called us a cab for the train station. all in all, a pretty nice place for the price.
Traveller's tip
a good alternative to the expensive places on the riverfront.

Good Hotel
This hotel has a lot of good points about it: - Exceptionally clean - Friendly, Helpful Staff who are good at English - Good Breakfast - Jaccuzi in your bathtub - Quiet Location - Very Comfortable Beds And now the negatives: - Its a fair walk from the city centre, uphill all the way - The safe in the room proved awkward (Read the instructions before putting anything in) - A bit pricey considering the location - If your neighbours are noisy (I had no problems) then you can hear it Overall I was happy with the stay, though would have preferred somewhere more central, to be honest. The location means you wont be walking to and from the hotel very often during the day, which is not necessarily a bad thing - but the walk in the morning isnt too bad.
- The Slovak Pub serves delicious food at good prices - If travelling from the airport to the city centre, use the number 61 Bus, it costs 70 euro cents per person - If using taxis, ensure that they leave the meter running, otherwise they can overcharge you - Use the Trams and Buses, they are excellent and frequent - The old town is beautiful and has plenty of places to eat - Try Zlaty Bazant, its a great beer - Bryndza cheese is an aquired taste, but worth trying
