Could do alot better!

It was Ok but then we always expect more.......paid a premium and ordered a deluxe room with breakfast. The room was really quite small and ordinary and I believe the definition of deluxe is due to the view. When you are there for mostpart at night-time in the dark, the view becomes irrelevant. The breakfast was very poor, low on quantity and quality and completely lacking in ’bon viveur’ and ’bonjour monseiur et madame’. Dinner the evening before had been OK, fantastic meat but the veg were well and trully ’killed’. All a bit of a shame really because you get the impression that with a little focus on quality and local produce perhaps, extending the aspects of service and hospitality;this place could really be a lovely little spot to stop at....but not on this experience tho!

A great find!

We stayed for 2 nights on a return journey through France from Italy. The hotel made the perfect stopping point as it was so quiet and peaceful. The building was typically French in style and set in lovely grounds. The food was delicious and the staff helpful and friendly. We were there at grape-picking time -so interesting -and the hotel was well located for seeing the many champagne caves and buying some of the produce! I’d definitely recommend this charming hotel. Breakfast was extra but good value.

Visit Epernay and see the Avenue de Champagne where there are some beautiful buildings that are the headquarters of some of the famous champagne houses e.g. Moet et Chandon. In the quaint, surrounding villages, there are dozens of small champagne producers and if you visit at harvest time, you can watch the grapes being picked for companies such as Bollinger - an enjoyable novelty!

Don’t get put in the annex

Hotel very pleasant but if they say your room is in the annex forget it. Room very small and en-suite with corner access very bad. Concertina door to en-suite required because of size of bedroom. Shower not usable. Resturant very nice food good. Location of hotel and grounds lovely shame about the annex.
