Like Home Away From Home
The hotel has the ambience of a large bed and breakfast, and the friendly, courteous staff create a home away from home feeling. The breakfast bar with hot entrees from the menu is a great value considering the cost of restaurants in the area. Guests have access to a lovely reading room with french doors and a balcony, a TV, and lots of books on travel in Australia. Guests also have access to a rooftop garden with nice views of the city. The steep circular staircase (there is no elevator) could create a problem for persons with heavy luggage or health problems, so it’s a good idea to request a lower floor. With Circular Quay only a 10 minute walk, you can go everywhere in Sydney by ferry, bus, or train.

The Russell Hotel
Fantastic location - close to all tourists attractions and easy access to Circular Quay. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Maxine for her help when we arrived at 5:30am.

Excellent location
We spent four nights at the Russell and were delighted with the location in the Rocks! Countless restaurants, pubs, cafes, and shops are within a few minutes walk. Circular Quay is just around the corner, as are the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. The breakfast was great, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
