Countryside retreat
Generally a very good experience. The structure is wonderfully restored and jammed with antique furniture. Our room was air conditioned and everything worked the way it was supposed to. Bed was comfortable. Rooms are small but appropriate size for the venue of what was apparently an old farmhouse not looking like an old mansion. Breakfast in the open air garden was delightful. The only problem with this hotel is the same one noted in many other reviews, that is, it is EXTREMELY difficult to locate in the countryside. A MUST is to get printed driving directions as well as a detailed map of the NUMEROUS round-a-bouts that are required to be navigated in order to get there. The hotel is actually located fairly close to the motorway but no exit there. Once you get into the general area there are good signs for the hotel but, unless you know what they look like, they are easy to miss. We spent two and a half hours trying to locate the hotel before a friendly native got us going back in the right direction. The hotel was not able to give us good driving directions even after we called them directly, mostly due to our inept Italian and limited English spoken by the receptionist. We would definitely stay at this hotel again. Be aware that it is out in the country so there is nothing for entertainment in the immediate area.

Hotel Villa Maya - Quiet and Comfortable
Nice Hotel. Helpful staff. They quickly got the air conditioner working and recommended an excellent local restaurant for dinner.

Really pleasant hotel
Very nice hotel not to far from Pisa - we stayed one night on our way from Pisa to Sienna. A bit difficult to find - the hotel is in the countryside and bit out of the way. I recommend having detailed Google maps, but otherwise a very pleasant hotel.
