nobody forced me to stay there
The area looked run down, although it all looks worse in the dark. Our room was cold when we went in but the controls for the heating were easy to use. Two of the window panes were cracked and a draft was whistling through. The en-suite was very tired looking but overall clean. The bed was comfortable but the sheet had holes in it. Staff were very very helpful so no complaints there whatsoever. When we checked out in the morning we took the time to wander around the ground floor which looked much nicer than the 4th floor we were on.. Too far from the centre of Birmingham for our needs on this particular occasion but better than having to drive home late at night

Birmgham
It was just a 2 days trip to Birmingham and we stayed at Paragon for a night. The hotel has a victorian type exterior by the rooms are like any other 2 star hotel - small and clumsy. Rooms are nothing like the looks of the hotel from outside. So do not be mis-guided by the looks. If you are looking to stay longer in Birgham than just a night, then find yourself a better place
