Comfy room with a good breakfast

The rooms were small yet adequate as we only slept there. The breakfast included in the price was brilliant, so much choice and so much better than some expensive hotels we’ve stayed in previously. The area was a bit dodgy though and not great late at night. It’s a short walk though to two main stations (U and S bahn). Enjoyed our stay!

Hackescher Markt has amazing places to eat, just what you’d expect from Germany! Didn’t want to eat at any of the multitude of Turkish vendors so this area was great as it serves AUTHENTIC German cuisine!

A little walking saves a lot of money

This hotel is about equidistant from Heinrich Heine Unterbahn and the Ostbahnhof S-Bahn stations, about 1/4 to 1/3 mile. After an active day of walking in Berlin, the small amount of noise mentioned in other reviews from partiers is not enough to keep you awake. The bathroom is very small, but clean and everything worked. No A/C on a hot day can be a challenge for us Americans, but the German windows are neat and they work just fine. The breakfast is simple but generous, with salad, yogurt, lunchmeat and cheese, and several types of breads, as well as apple juice and orange juice and coffee. East Berlin has now recovered enough that it looks as good as or better than many sections of American cities, and I felt safer. One elevator is inconvenient when you have an 8th floor room like we did, but we’re healthy, and the 50% of times it looked like a wait, we just took the stairs. I would definitely consider returning to this hotel.

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

Buy the Berlin welcome card as soon as you arrive in the Hauptbahnhof. It allow unlimited travel on all mass Transportation for 3 days in Berlin and Potsdam for 25 Euros.

Efficient and functional good value hotel.

Check in was very quick once we filled in the registration form, our room was clean and had a good bathroom and there was a decent selection of food for the breakfast buffet.
