Unexpectedly Good Restaurant

Basic Motel type hotel, rooms set out in enormous blocks but OK for one night and reasonably priced. Renovation started on 2 of the blocks. Good shuttle to the airport (Ciampino) at ?8 for the 2 of us. The restaurant was very good and certainly not expected in a hotel of this type. Food choice excellent and what we ordered was superbly cooked and presented. The bill was very low after Rome and the house wine at ?7 a bottle was very "moreish" !

Just dine here, not much else about anyway

Poor facility

I was disaapointed in the length one had to walk to get to the rooms. No swimming pool or night activities to create a vibrant atmosphere. More like a retirement home but less excited. The hotel needs renovating and to give it a more modern feel. The bedrooms were boring and the bed hard. Was not a place where you would feel relax.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

If you want to experience Rome do not take a hotel in Ciampino. Poor bus service

Awful, don’t go there - even if Rome is full

All on 1 floor. If it was two floors the airplanes would hit it as they take off. rooms arranged in linear fashion, so factor in a 20 min walk if you’re in rooms 600+. Also, not straight and flat, so beware if you have wheeled luggage, you’ll have steps and door lips to negotiate the whole way. Room was like a 60s student dorm. Shower was week and missing shower tray, so flooded the bathroom and bedroom. I haven’t seen a TV that small for a long time (14"?) and very curved - not flat, not even close. Lot’s of sky channels though (thank heavens). Breakfast was bare minimum. Italians are known for their food, but clearly not on the evidence of this woeful effort. It is close to the airport - but the wrong airport. Unless you have an early flight from this airport and every other room is booked, don’t stay here. In fact, sleeping in a hire car might be preferable. Seriously it is that bad.

Traveller's tip for business travellers

Don’t.
