Nice lobby, old rooms, bad location
The Red Lion is impressive upon entrance and has a very big lobby with a great fireplace in the bar. The rest of the hotel is lacking--the key card did not work just about every time I got to our door. The front desk tried to tell me it was because it was getting de-magnetized in my purse, but it didn’t work the first time I tried to get in at check -in, when it hadn’t even made it to my purse yet. The hotel is located right off I-25 which I guess is convenient but one side of the hotel is very loud. After checking into a room that was right on the highway and very noisy I switched to the other side of the hotel which was slightly better. And good luck finding the hotel because after 3 days i still didn’t know how to meanuever my way to and from the entrance because of the tricky exits on Parker Road. Do not go down Dam road if you see it as an option. I did that once and you drive miles thru Cherry Creek park with no possible turn around and have to wait until the end to back track. Also, I do not reccomend the hotel bar to eat-- expensive and not very good. It has nice ambience for a couple of drinks though. Overall, we would not stay there again
There is a bagel place on Parker Road right near the hotel called Lucy’s New York Bagels (or something that sounds like Lucy--can’t quite remember) that was good for breakfast

Excelent quality/price ratio
- had to pay the water bottles in the room - some elevators were offline for almost 24 hours - some cleaning should be performed more regularly (but ok it’s a 3-star) - no free breakfast (only two $10 breakfast tickets were given) - breakfast menu was always the same (i was a bit annoyed)

Beautiful and relaxing
The hotel was beautiful. It was a very clean and comfortable room. The hotel had a lounge, a restraunt, and a gift shop. We ate breakfast at the hotel restraunt in the morning. The food was excellent. My only complaint was that I could hear traffic noise from the highway from our room. I was very happy with the entire stay and would highly recommend it to anyone.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
I took my daughter to the Denver Aquarium. It was a lot of fun and not very expensive. It is about 15 to 20 minutes from the hotel if there is no traffic, and very easy to find.
