Can’t wait to go back
From the warm chocolate chip cookies upon arrival to check out, the Doubletree is a great place to stay. Staff is friendly and the hotel is beautiful. Love it there...

Great view - well worth the price
We stayed based on other reviews and were not disappointed. The best part was walking down the hall, opening the door to our room and looking directly out over the American Falls - plume and all! Be sure to upgrade to the deluxe view rooms (14th floor and higher). You can walk everywhere so park your car (for $10/night - but all the hotels charge and some are quite a bit higher). The hotel is about two blocks back from the river so you look out over some low-rise motels and parking lots but everything is in easy walking distance (it is uphill at the end of the day from the river - bring walking shoes).
The Maid of the Mist is a must. The best way to see the most is to get the Adventure Pass which includes the Maid of the Mist, a walk behind the Falls, two other attractions, two days of bus rides and a bunch of 1/2 price coupons - well worth it. The Niagra’s Fury attraction is great for kids but I would pass as an adult unless it was included on one of the multi-attraction ticket packages. We ate the buffet at the Skylon Tower and thought it was worthwhile as a one-time thing to do. The view was spectacular and the food was surprisingly good. Everything seems a bit pricey and the local taxes are quite high. Grab a snack at the Starbucks in the lobby or go to Horton’s for Breakfast.
