Best place to stay in Rome

Location was fantastic. Able to walk to everything.Staff exceeding helpful with directions and transportation (private car from airport) Room was always very clean and comfortable. Restaurant was wonderful with good food. would return to 47 in a heart beat. Thanks for the best and memorable vacation. Thank you Expedia for this service.

Traveller's tip on local attractions

Take a guided tour of Colosseum and Vatican. It is well worth it and more informative then just wondering around looking at things and not knowing meaning.

Great location

Overall we had a great stay at Fortyseven. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived early in the morning after an overnight flight and were glad they could get us into our room well before the official check-in time. Our room was clean and spacious. The air conditioning worked well and kept the room comfortable despite the high 90’s temperatures we had every day. The free buffet breakfast was exceptional. They had a wide variety of good food and drinks and would make you a cappuccino if you liked. The hotel was only about a 10 minute walk from the Colusseum and Palatine museum. It was also just across the river from Trastevere which had some great dining options.

Will definitely return!!

Contemporary, boutique hotel well within walking distance of most sights. Good sized, modern bedroom with a poor view of a side street, however we didn’t spend much time looking out !! Courteous, friendly, well informed frontline staff. Excellent, buffet breakfast eaten in a well appointed courtyard. FANTASTIC 20th century modern art collection which made a refreshing change from the Michaelangelo’s and Caravaggio’s of the Vatican museums!! Will definitely return.

Ask the taxi driver the fare from the airport before entering. It should be a €40-50 Flat fare! If you have any complaints take the taxi driver’s number - most have their companies names on their sides and speak to the hotel concierge- as they can be ’struck off’ from driving for a period of 2 weeks.
