not impressed
The hotel appeared to be a clean flophouse attached to a pickup bar. Bed was a queen mattress on a king platform. It was easy to trip over the wood extensions. Ventialtion was not easily modulated. No closet or even hooks for hanging up clothes. Shampoo was not replenished.

Not what was advertised
The first night I arrived, tired and worn out from traveling, I realized I wouldn’t be getting any peace and quiet because of the bar located directly below my room. There were loud, drunken bar patrons sitting around the fire pit outside of the bar practically yelling until almost 2 am. I was in Portland for a conference and this hotel was included in the cheapest package I could find. No wonder! So, no rest for me the first night and I had to wake up early to attend the conference. It was terrible. Also, the rooms are much smaller than they’re made to look on the website. If you want a hotel where all the pretentious, hip people spend their nights in a drunken stupor, then stay here.

Fun Hotel
Not only were the beds comfortable and the rooms stylish, the doors were covered in chalkboard material and the rooms had complimentary chalk. It was fun to decorate. There was also a great coffee shop right across the street and the hotel bar was fun.
