Good if you are OK with a room in grandma’s house

I was fine with my stay, but I just want a bed to sleep in. It reminded me of staying in a room at my grandma’s old house. When I arrived (after hours) my key (yes it was an actual key, no magnetic strip here) and reservation was literally sitting on a side table by the front door with other late arrivers’ keys. Who says trust and honesty is gone? I did have a private bath and it was nice having access to the common kitchen (which must have been remodelled recently based on how clean and new it looked). The decor was old, as was the bed. A new flat screen TV was mounted on the wall but it and the cable box were plugged into the only 3-pronged outlet in the room (another 3-prong was in the bathroom and the rest of the outlets were 2-prong). In order to plug in my laptop in (after the battery was drained) in the bedroom, I had to unplug either the TV or the Cable box and hence no TV and computer together. Free WiFi was available. Location was nice being near the tram, hospital and a grocery store. As I said, I had no problem staying there and may stay there again, but if you prefer that new, up-to-date room that most Americans think of when staying at a hotel, then I suggest you look else where.

Pleasantly surprised!

I was slightly hesitant about staying in this hotel since it was so inexpensive by Boston standards, but the reviews were good and we thought we would give it a try. It was Great! It was a little funky (our room was in the basement next to the laundry room), but extremely clean and just about the quietest hotel we have ever stayed in. Parking was free and we could entrance in the back door just off our room. The staff was very pleasant. It was just a few blocks from Coolidge Corner. We will definitely go back.

Terrible service, terrible hotel

I stayed there for 4 nights during the week. The service in this hotel is the worst I’ve ever experienced. There was not a single staff member available at any time during my stay. On the final night of my stay I entered my room only to find out that another guest was staying there. All my things were moved to a different room in garbage bags and the hotel manager did not inform me of this, despite having all my contact information. When I called for an explanation the next day the manager was rude and did not apologize. This place is truly awful!
