Very nice hotel
Very nice hotel. Food very good but a little pricey. It would have been nice if they had a Continental breakfast. They need a few more English speaking T.V channels. They can stock a few more electrical wall adapters. The dinning staff went out of their way to accommodate us with the food we ordered or asked for. We greatly appreciated that.
For me driving in Italy; especially Rome was a bit unnerving as well as a culture shock, There are just too many Motor scooters riding around darting in and around traffic. I wasnt very happy with the pizza or the coffee. Some places even had coffee labeled American coffee but it just didnt cut the mustard. Pizza was a surprisingly disappointment. I expected pizza to die for. However I surmise that pizza in Italy is the way it is suppose to be and when it came to the U,S. we Americans subverted it for better or worse. Mc Donalds taste exactly like Mc Donalds in the U.S. There is Burger King the too but we didnt eat there. No particular reason. At first we would say "Hi or hello" to people and they would not respond. Our thoughts were the the Italian people were snobbish or didnt like Americans. We told a lady at the Hertz rent a car agency this and she told us to say "chow" and people would respond to us. We tested this right out side the door and it worked. We would say chow and people would smile and say chow back. Then we learned to say thank you and a few other Italian word and we were good from there. No one would except the U.S. dollars or any other currency other than euro. one dollar is worth 50 to 60 cents in euro. We werent prepared for that. one example of how much the dollar went, I got 200 euros out of an atm and my bank account was debited 318 dollars. A must see is the Colosseum, the Vatican, and the tome of St Peter and St Pauls Basilica and his tomb. Every church or basilica any where in Italy, even the small community one were just magnificent. I have never seen anything in the U.S. All in all a wonderful vacation. We were there a total of 18 days.

Nice hotel for early a.m. flights.
The only problem was that there was no shuttle to take us and another couple to the hotel and due the the close proximity to the airport (and not being able to make a higher fee), taxi drivers charged 20 Euros to go 2 miles. Other than that, the hotel and staff were wonderful.

Add-on fees
Not so conveniently located from the airport - and the hotel shuttle charges $9 pp to FCO. Early flight? That means a taxi, over $20. Location is a seedy neighborhood, with a shuttle ride to central Rome running about $100 per couple, round trip.
