very enjoyable stay allthough the room was rather small on this visit it was very clean, the meal in the restaurant was excellant but the wines were rather expensive especially with the poor exchange rate it is an excellent hotel and have stayed several times over a number of years

Pause for financial thought
We have enjoyed a number of visits to Château Tilques. The ambience is very pleasant and relaxing, situation and grounds (including peacocks!)lovely and well away from the main raod. The restaurant is excellent, breakfasts also excellent. Staff are all very approachable, helpful but unfussy. Rooms are good - on our latest visit we had booked a ’comfort’room and were upgraded to a ’superior’ room. Exchange rates have not helped. Larger ’luxury’ rooms are now excessively expensive. However, as a place to stay it’s difficult to fault and it’s a great stopping off place if you’ve been elsewhere in France, as it’s only 30 minutes’ drive from the tunnel. It’s well placed for a range of interesting sites related to WW2 and nearby St Omer is very attractive.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
From Tilques, drive to Ypres [Ieper], visit the excellent museum of WW2 and stay for the moving ceremony every evening at the Menin Gate. Also near to Tilques is La Cupole and the Blockhouse, both impressive sites worth a visit.

Relax in style!
4th time we have stayed at the chateau and we have never been anything but impressed. Excellent holiday in every way!!
