Excellent location - perfect for a single traveller
The Belnord is situated on the Upper West Side, just off Broadway (major avenue), a few streets west of Central Park and one street north of the subway with a fast route downtown. The room was small (not much room around the edge of the double bed) but ideal for someone who just needs a base to come back to sleep or get changed. The bathroom again was small but perfectly adequate with a great shower. There was also a decent sized LCD TV mounted on the wall with all the basic US channels. There are plenty of bars, cafes and diners within close walking distance as well as a store just around the corner where you can get snacks and drinks etc. There are also quite a few banks very close, including Bank of America on the corner of Broadway and 87th, where money can be withdrawn from a cash machine. Overall, as a lone traveller looking for a reasonably-priced and well located hotel, I was totally satisfied.

Incredible Location for Less
The rooms are very small but very modern and clean. The location is incredible, only two blocks from central park and one block from a subway. I would definitely stay there again.
Learn and use the subway system and you are close to everywhere.

Small but very nice hotel
I booked this hotel after reading previous reviews and was not really bothered about the rooms being small as I had no intention of staying in my hotel room (apart from sleeping). The room was small, but not as small as some of the reviews were making out. The bed was large and very comfortable, the air conditioning was perfect and the en suite was more than adequate. The location of the hotel was less than 200m from the nearest subway station where you can take the number 1 train "downtown" to 42nd St (Times Square) where you can get anywhere in Manhattan from very quickly at approx $27 dollars for unlimited travel for a 7 day period (we only used it for 4 days but still saved more as it costs approx $8 a day). I would recommend a place called "City Diner" around the corner for breakfast, it had very good food and was very cheap. Also located nearby was a Starbucks and a Dunkin Donuts. For all small groceries you need to walk to Amsterdam Avenue, which is only approx 300m away. All in all I would 100% stay there again if I was back in New York and would recommend it to anyone who is looking at visiting.
