Clean and Comfortable Hotel

This hotel was very clean and updated. The view from our room was great because we could see the beach and the favelas and at night it looked beautiful. I was impressed that I could use my curling iron without a converter because our room had a built in plug for it. Our room was a pretty good size and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel had the biggest gym I had seen at any hotel that I had stayed at. They had a lot of equipment to work out on. The pool was pretty big and the set up of the resort was carefully thoughtout. The food however was really expensive, way too expensive. Eat somewhere else if you can!!

Traveller's tip on recreational activities

Take a trip to the favelas with a tour guide, you will not regret it. This was my favorite tour trip in Rio de Janeiro. It was amazing. Yes, it was safe and we would do it again! Whenever you can, take a taxi with a meter, it is not expensive. Ipanema was a better beach than Copacabana but both were beautiful.

Sheraton Rio August 2009

The Sheraton Rio is a beautiful facility, with the Atlantic on the front, and a mountain behind. Views are spectacular, and the staff is very helpful. Meals and internet are quite expensive; make sure your reservation includes breakfast. Only negative is that beach access is restricted after 6 PM during the winter season.

Sheraton Rio Hotel

An extremely disappointing hotel.. The prices of everything are extreme. Hotel service was poor. We arrived from another Sheraton Hotel and were made to wait from midday to 3.30pm. Don’t worry about staying at Sheratons again... No sorry’s about making us wait...yet...if we check out more than an hour late...they will charge money...
