Value for Money
The hotel is well-situated near the railway station and close to the central part of Leuven - and opposite the prison! The room I stayed in was fairly basic but had all the facilities needed for an overnight stay. The one problem was the lack of air conditioning which meant that the room was very hot (it was mid-August). Opening the windows helped, but a colleague whose room was on the front side found the traffic outside too noisy to allow this. For the price paid, the hotel offered good value, but I would avoid a front-facing room, particularly in the summer.

Good basic accommodations
Visiting Leuven on business, I stayed at the Hotel Binnenhof as it was within walking distance to the train station, Phillipsite (where I was conducting business) and the center of town. The rooms are very small but comfortable and reasonably priced. The full breakfast was very good. You can probably find nicer accommodations on the road if you have a rental car, or if you are willing to commute by train. But if you plan to really experience Leuven, which is one of the most charming little cities I’ve visited in Europe, then consider staying at the Hotel Binnenhof.

Be sure to check out Ron Black’s bar near the University Library. Lot’s of young people hang out there, with a great selection of beers, drinks, and friendly atmosphere
