Not impressed at all
Did not care for this hotel. Did not like the "oldness" of the hotel. The complementary breakfast was not cold, not presentable and did not taste that great. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Staff was great and very helpful.

Good location
This 1930s hotel that is on the National Historical Registry was remodeled elegantly and tastefully in grand fashion in 2004. Our queen room suite was as roomy as condos on the gulf coast. It was within walking distance from many area attractions. Even though it was a little pricer than some in the area, it was still not as high as others. The breakfast buffet was an added treat, as we loaded our plate and then took them to our room and enjoyed breakfast in our own stocked kitchen at our dining table. The hotel offered added services that arent always available at other hotels (for example-grocery shopping along with some items availabe from the stocked lobby store). Checking in was a little hectic due to the time of day (Friday evening around 5) with traffic and others trying to check in at the same time. The valet did take a $16.00 bottle of scented spray from our vehicle, so I advise anyone not to leave ANYTHING that they cant replace in their vehicle.

Memphis hospitality at its best
The residence was in a great location for reaching all downtown entertainment. The room we had had a great view where we could see the river and we were made most welcome by all staff. Any help we needed for anything during our stay was always given.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Beale Street provides a source of great music and great food with a relaxing feel. Rendezvous restaurant serves the best in bbq.
