Not what I was expecting.
This hotel sounded so good from most of the reviews that I read, but I was pretty disappointed. We had reserved a 3 bed/2 bath condo which we got. But, we were put over by the maintenance shack. So every morning we heard the beeping of trucks backing up or people yelling at each other. The room itself smelled mildewy which may just be what you get in Florida with all the humidity. The television in the living area needs replacing and we asked for someone to look at it, but that never happened. Someone did come at 9:00am the next morning, but when I asked if he could come back later in the afternoon (we were on West coast time) he never showed up. What I did like about this place was the location. It’s only about 10-15 minutes to Disney World and yet really removed from the hustle and bustle. It has a lagoon surrounding it and a nice beach and pool area in the back. The restaurants were not open when they said they’d be and there is no kids club or game room which were advertised in the listing. When you make your reservations you may want to request a room near the pond or lagoon area and one that has been updated lately.

Very Impressed
This was a first trip to Orlando, took my 4 yr old granddaughter to Disney. We had a wonderful time and the Resort was exceptional, I really do need to get back and enjoy more of the hospitality I received from this resort.

Back for a second year - as good as it was before
Our second time at Bahama bay, which should tell you that we expected things to be good. We weren’t disappointed. This continues to be an excellent place to stay if you want some peace and tranquility after the hustle and bustle of the parks. It is 10 - 15 mins from Disney and further for international drive, but it’s really worth it. Accommodation is first rate. Being ultra picky , the carpet in our apartment had some stains on it and the ecellent separate washer and dryer we had last year had been replaced with a single combined unit which didn’t work very well, but this is really small beer. This place is everthing a family could want for a holiday base in Orlando
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
It’s quite expensive and you have to book in advance, but Discovery Cove is well worth it. Swimnming with the rays is an awesome ecperience !
