Relaxing on the edge of the city (but near enough to stroll into town)
The hotel is on the east fringe of Utrecht in park land alongside the moat of an old fort, and one wakes up to the sound of water fowl in the morning. Breakfast on the patio is very pleasant and with a great range, including pink champage if you want. The short swimming pool is great for underwinding after a day’s conferencing or business. The staff are friendly and help. The rooms can be a bit warm in summer, but that is so for most places in Europe (not designed to disperse heat!?).
While the cab is expensive from the station to the hotel taking a round-about route, the hotel is quite easy walking into the city or by bus. Better still, hire a bike from a hire shop under the station for Euro 32 a week (the hotel will charge 15 a day for their bikes!). If you do not have much luggage and you have a good map, do that as soon as you hop off the train. Utrecht is great to cycle around.

Fun vacation
We found the hotel staff helpful, even with language issues and very friendly. They respected our privacy and were extra helpful when asked.
Utrecht was clean, friendly and variety of cusine. Hotel had options if weather was cold or nasty.
