Highly Recommended

We stayed in the Landmark due to it’s proximity to Dundee. We were visiting my boyfriend’s sister as she is at Uni up there. It was only a five minute drive from the city centre and was also really easy to find and was pretty much a straight road! We got a really good deal through Hotels.com so the value was excellent too, though from what I understand the hotel is usually more expensive to stay in! And I can see why! The hotel was beautiful. It has clearly recently been refurbished and is lovely and modern. The rooms were beautiful and absolutely spotless. The staff were also very friendly and very helpful, though I would recommend getting local taxi numbers before visiting as the taxi company used by the hotel weren’t very good. We hadn’t booked in for breakfast but on arrival the receptionist recommend we leave card details and charge the breakfast to our room at the cost of £7.95. If we hadn’t done this the breakfast would have been £13.95 each. I though this was a really helpful tip and thoroughly nice of the staff to let us know! The food was all delicious though there was a limited choice on the menu. I would however recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in that part of the country. You would need to drive to get full use of it however, due to the lack of transport links near the hotel but if you did want to explore the East coast of Scotland this would be an ideal base! Highly impressed!

I would suggest leaving your card details at reception if you have not opted to have breakfast as part of your booking. If you don’t you will be charged £13.95 each but will get it at the discounted price of £7.95 if you charge this to your room. I would also get local taxi numbers if you intend to go out for a drink in Dundee as there are no direct transport links and the company used by the hotel were rude and hopeless (they didn’t even know there was a Bank Street in Dundee!).

reasonably priced and

Nice breakfast and bar area, about 3 to 4 miles to downtown, health club was good, the pool area is a little small(it is the UK), and scenic back area. Room was okay but nothing special; the bathroom was large(tub and shower) with modern fixtures, some furniture was dated. Staff was friendly and service acceptable. Near (quarter mile) walking and cycling paths and trails to other parts of town, but have to cross over main highway. All in all okay, would stay there again.

Work in progress

Our hotel room was a nice size room for the price. The bed was very nice, and the entire hotel has undergone an extensive renovation recently. There are a few minor problems; broken toilet, heating system, but the maintenance folks were very responsive. It is conveniently located for lots of day excursions around the eastern part of Scotland.
