Nice Place
This was a good place to spend a few days while in Interlaken. it is within walking distance of all 3 train stations (west,Ost and Wilderswil) and there is a bus stop a block down the street so this all made it easy to get around. The hotel is an older building so it’s nothing fancy but it has more character than the newer ones - we had a balcony outside our room which faced the mountains for an incredible view. Our room had a toilet and shower in the room which was nice (in 10 days of traveling around switzerland this was the only accomodation we had with a bathroom and shower in the room). The staff was very nice and helpful at all times, breakfast was adequate, the location is excellent. Supermarket, laundry and restaurants are all within a 5 minute walk.

Alpina is one of the cheapest hotel in Interlaken. The staff was friendly and kind,but the room smelt so bad that It awoke me three times at night.

I can still smell it
Although from the cheap side of the B&B’s in Interlaken, I’d choose to avoid it next time. Negatives: Terrible smell in the room, even worse in the wc/shower room - was like being in a basement that had not been opened for ages. A renovation is needed I guess. Location not too close to the centre of the village. Security not a strong point, as room keys were left unattended a lot of times in the reception. Positives: Very friendly owner/staff, tasty (and cheap too!) food in the lovely garden, quiet location (also next to an activities centre, which was handy when we went rafting). Free car park at the backyard of the hotel.
as you go out of the hotel, turn left and 100m down the road you ll find an activities centre, worth visiting!!!! (next to a large hostel-building)
