Pleasantly Suprised
We were very impressed with the hotel. Having not been to the area before, we were pleasantly suprised at the location and amenities. Our daughter-in-law will be recommending the hotel to her parents for their upcoming visit.

Decent hotel in a good location
Overall we were very satisfied with this hotel. While it may not be a 5-star resort, the room was comfortable and offered many amenities that were not available at other hotels. We only ate at one of the hotels restaurants, Le Charolet, which was very good. Even though the airport runway was walking distance away, the noise was barely audible in the room. Theres a great beach bar also within walking distance, the Sunset Beach Bar. We would definitely stay at La Terrasse again.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Even though Maho Beach is an obvious choice for beaches, I recommend the 10 minute walk to Mullet Bay but be forewarned that topless swimmers are permitted. If you want to tour the island, the hotel also has its own rental car company. I recommend this as cab fare quickly adds up. As the hotel rooms have kitchens, I suggest shopping at the little grocery store around the corner if youd like to save money on restaurants.

Home away from Home
La Terrasse is not a luxury hotel but it is a very nice, clean, comfortable and convenient studio appartment. The kitchen has a stove top, microwave, coffee pot and frige. The location is about 5 miles from the airport and walking distance to anything you need however the best resturants and beaches are a short drive away. The hotel has underground parking for about $5.00 per night.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
I recommend renting a car because it is easy to get around the one main road that goes around the island. The beaches on the French side were the best. In Grand Case we has great lunches from the Low-lows (locals) for less than $10.00 per person. We has great breakfasts at Zee Best in Philipsburg, great lunchs at Lees, and a few other pricy but wonderful meal.
