JC Royal Sun
Great, much better than expected for such a low price. Had a view, bed very comfortable, b-fest OK, hot tub worked, etc.

Fantastic Bargain
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It was a bit out dated, but clean, and very comfortable. The price was out of this world for a room of this size and with this location. It was close enough to downtown that you could walk to restaurants, it had a decent breakfast that even included Belgian waffles, and it also had a microwave and refrigerator in the room. We enjoyed sitting out on our balcony overlooking the pool and the hillside. It was very quiet as well.

Better than expected
We stayed here on the way from Las Vegas to San Diego. The hotel was fine and inexpensive - clean and comfortable.

Good Location! However no privacy!
The location of the hotel is good! Its very close to downtown. However its an old hotel where you can pretty much hear what your neighbour is talking. I would not advise this hotel for people with younger kids.

Fun place to travel.
We will go back again. Everyone we dealt with was very nice. The breakfast offered was great!!!!!!

Much more than I expected for the price.
Basically I figured all I needed a bed and a bathroom -- I was at conference meeting during my days. This site offered that along with homemade waffles for breakfast. The walls are thin, so bring earplugs if room noise bothers you. The shower head hit me at about chin level so I had to do a back bend to wash my hair, and Im not overly tall. But it was clean, for the most part quiet, and inexpensive. The location was on the far outside edge of the downtown area -- so dont plan on walking to the stores unless you like a vigorous hike. The room had a micro, frig, iron, safe, and hair dryer. It was unusally spacious as well.

Fine for the money, but sleep on the top floor.
The hotel is hard to find at night. There is no sign on the Palm Springs South side of the hotel. And if you actually want to sleep, get a room on the top floor. The floors squeak and from my room on the 2nd floor, I could hear everything anyone walked to the bathroom in the middle of the night! But, it was cheap and that’s what I was looking for.

Great continental breakfast!
Its old - but fairly well maintained. Large pool. Quiet and still close everything. Their continental breakfast is great!

great value for money
The Sun Inn is a budget hotel .. but it is a welcoming great place to stay. In need of a little updating but the staff are kind , considerate and always helpful. The free breakfast was very good ... all in all if you are looking for a great place to stay in Palm Springs you wont go far wrong with the Sun Inn .Bedrooms have large comfortable beds and are always spotless..
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
The Arial Tramway is a fantastic ride to the top of the mountain , rotates 180’as you go up .. beautiful veiws at the top and a good place to sit and enjoy lunch looking down at the valley below .

Breakfast needs improvement
I am very satisfied with my recent stay at Sun Royal except for the breakfast. Breakfast spread is limited and not appetizing. They even cut the donuts into 4 pieces. That was quite unnecessary.

It was ok for a nights stay...
Even though it was labled non-smoking, there was that distinct coverup odor, although not overpowering, non-the-less, I lived with it for one night.

Cheap, clean, large rooms
I got a pretty good deal through Expedia, the hotel was better than expected for the price and quite comfortable. If you don’t have a car it’s a bit of a problem as it’s out a little of the way and the local taxis don’t seem to know it. The place is hidden from the main road by another building, telling the taxi driver to go to the Vagabond Inn (next door) is the best option.

Great Value
This hotel was in quiet and scenic spot with the mountains very nearby. It’s worth getting up for sunrise just to see the beautiful colors the sun projects onto the San Jancinto Mountains. A very good value and I would definitely stay there again.

Nice Place
The royal sun is a nice place with a good pool area . The rooms are clean and well maintained I have stayed there 4 times or more. I will stay again.

Great solid deal for the price with roomy clean grounds, nice beds and showers and decent continential breakfast. I would use glad to stay again.

would never go back
Staff was not pleasant, and uninformed about prices,local points of interest, restruants etc. Actually one staff person was rude. The linens were so thread bare as to be no absorbant. This was the only place I could get, but I should have stayed in a nearby town and driven to my appointments.
