Too Noisy
The hotel is located next to a train hub. At about 4:00 am the trains start pulling in, and their brakes make a loud screeching hum that makes it impossible to sleep.

Overall a good experience
Holiday Inn Express on Main Street in Barstow, CA was a pleasant surprise. There are many hotel/motels to choose from, but not many that have a standard of quality. The hotel was undergoing some maintainance during our stay, but it didn’t interfere with our plans and noise was minimal. The bed was comfortable, though the pillow labeled "firm" was not quite. We missed the continental breakfast, but were happy to know it was an option. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends traveling through the area.
