Great Hotel
This hotel was lovely, everybody really friendly and always very helpful. Would definitely go back again. Food in the restaurant was excellent couldn’t really fault it in any way.

good hotel in the old town
Hotel stadtkrug is in the old town but across the bridge from the most famous area - just a short walk tho’. nice rooftop terrace restaurant, pleasant staff, comprehensive breakfast. For a one night stay in Salzburg it was excellent.

Great location, loads of character
From the moment we arrived at 10am to ask if we could leave our suitcase whilst exploring the city and were given the key to our room, the service was spot on. We had a ’comfort’ room which was good, but not outstanding. Breakfast was good and the one evening meal which we took on the roof garden was first class. The hotel had a beautiful atmosphere and relaxed feel. Salzburg is a lovely city. The centre is a few minutes walk from the hotel. The Salzburg card at 36euros for 72 hours is great value for serious sightseers.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
Fortress is a must. Mozart attractions overated. St Peters Abbey is best church (don’t miss facinating cemetry), take a cable car up the 1800m Untersburg (via no 25 bus) view is outstanding.
