Nice hotel in good location with lovely pool

The standard of the hotel was better than I had anticipated and I was particulary impressed with the pool and garden area where there was a bar, poolside rsstaurant and nice seating area. Breakfast was also very good with an ample choice of food and fantastic views. Hotel location was good as opposite sea front even if it was a 20-25 min walk into the centre of Sorrento. My only complaint was that my room was on the ground floor, very near the reception, and very noisy at night and early morning. Hourly shuttle service to Soorento was useful.

GOOD HOTEL, GREAT STAFF

the hotel itself is in a fantastic position, ideal for travelling around sorrento with a bus stop across the road or only a 15 min walk to sorrento center. The hotel facilities are good with a decent sized pool and a great area at night for sitting having a beer, the pizza’s round the pool are too die for. Breakfast is good but basic, but the usuals are included (eggs, fruit etc), and the view from the top floor restaurant is spectacular. Rooms are very basic and quite small, but don’t be put off , they are spotlessly clean and for the amount of time you spend in them they are ideal, (if you go to a place as beautiful as this and stay in your room you must be mad), The one thing that sets this hotel apart is the staff, they cannot do enough for you, upon arrival to leaving they look after you , and are genuinly interested to help you . The barmen at the pool are great to talk to whilst having a beer , they will recommend places to go and things to do and will laugh and joke all night. This hotel is well worth going to if you want a base to travel around the area and the occasional chill out day at the pool

Needs a Facelift!

My parents, husband, and I stayed at the Hotel Mediterraneo during our trip to Sorrento. First to mention, is that the hotel is not actually in Sorrento and if I went back I would probably choose to stay in the city area. The view of the water across the street is absolutely beautiful and that might be harder to find in the city proper. The hotel was nice but needed some updating. The interior of the building, rooms, and pool area were very nice. However, the rooms would profit well from some new furniture (bed was very uncomfortable) and the outside of the building needs some cleaning and a coat of paint. I was a little disappointed with my "sea view room" as the sea view was across the street and a little blocked by trees and other buildings. The breakfast each morning was really nice. The views from the top floor were amazing!
