Perfect location and price
The Ramada Inn was located in a perfect location to review everything in the gaslamp district. Connected to the hotel, is a full service restaurant and bar that is open 24 hours. The top floor of the hotel overlooks the entire city. We were extremely pleased with the staff and our overall trip.

Overpriced, noisy, small rooms
This hotel was just too expensive. The room was "European" small, with a tiny separate bathroom and the washbasin was in the bedroom. The water ran slowly out of the tub and after showering, the tub had 5 inches of water in it. There was no desk in the room so working was difficult. On check in, I had to sign a statement that there would be NO REFUNDS FOR NOISE, since the hotel was on a street in the "ENTERTAINMENT QUARTER". The elevator was also the old fashioned kind with a steel door and a sliding gate - extremely difficult to manoeuver in and out even without luggage. I would NOT stay there again. The staff were pleasant, but that did not make up for the other deficiencies.
I was there on business, not pleasure

Great Hotel in the Heart of Gas Town w/ Old World Charm...
This hotel has the perfect location in Gas Town! No need to drive around in the heart of SD; you can walk to many restaurants, shops and even a mall (with movie theater). This hotel is also quite old (built in 1918 I believe) and therefore has a special charm. The rooms a a little small and so is the elevator but this is to be expected from an old hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly. They were able to give good directions and recommendations to things to do nearby.
