Great room and location for the money
Great place to stay! Everything they advertise is true. The rooms were very clean. The staff was absolutely friendly and helpful. The pool was great during the day and the hot tub was great in the evening. We were able to walk to everything. The area is great. The path the hotel has gets you to the harbor and beach within a few minutes. The only times we used our rental car was to visit my son at Camp Pendleton.

Great to base out of for seeing area
Motel is clean and staff great. Train near by poses no problem. Continental breakfast skimpy but restaurants across street.You can walk to beach down path, under tracks and bam you are at harbor. However to carry alot of stuff and kids better off driving down to beach and park/pay. There are pay lots 5$ all day pass. You park (go early) pay at kiosk and display ticket on dash. Restaurants at harbor are very good. Motel will give you voucher for free appetizer at Joes Crab shack. Refridge is small and microwave Ok. No problems with any noise in complex. When at beach restrooms are at harbor by restaurants and also near the Lifeguard station. There are also public lots but you have to walk a bit.
Traveller's tip on recreational activities
Take a trip North and go to Newport beach and to Balboa Island and walk around there very nice also a little ferry to cross over to othe parts of Balboa Island.

Birthday at Oceanside
We had a great time in Oceanside. The hotel was comfortable. Having a refrigrator and microwave made it all we were expecting. We just wanted a hotel convenient to the base and the beach and easy accessible to San Diego. It is just that and a great room for the money. The staf were very friendly.
