Excellent hotel and spot on location
I was not sure if this hotel would live up to the nice pics. I found it much nicer. It is in a very good location for the walking in to the town ( 5 mins ) and also driving up to the obersalzberg or eagles nest. The view from the restaurant on a nice day is so nice it almost does not look real ! I loved eating my breakfast and seeing the mountains. The outside terrace was nice as well but the trees block the view a little. The rooms are very clean and well mantained and have a nice individual decor which makes a change from the usual bland rooms in most hotels. The staff are all very helpful and speak good English and dont mind you practicing your German. They are all polite and have a nice sense of humour. I get the feeling they all like their work. The food was excellent. I would say this is one of the nicest hotel I have stopped in. The only downside I can think of was parking was sometimes awkward as there not always enough spaces.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
A trip to the Obersalzberg, Eagles Nest (Kehlstein ), Jennerbahn cable car, Konigsee boat trip, and Rossfeld road are in easier reach and well recommended.

nice place to crash for one night
we arrived late. caught the last half-hour of the sauna, which was quite small but otherwise OK. we had to leave early in the morning and breakfast was only from 07:30, so we went on without breakfast. nice people, nice service, very comfortable rooms -- excellent windows and fresh air -- restaurant boring and nothing to write about. all in all, nothing special but good for a good night’s sleep.
