How does a top hotel make the Insiders' Select list?

Of the 150,000 hotels and resorts on Expedia, only 650 hotels are deemed eligible for Insiders' Select status. These hotels are ranked with a numerical score which is completely independent of advertisers and partners. Only the top hotels with the highest scores are chosen for the Insiders' Select list.


Guest Reviews
Expedia is home to more than 4 million hotel reviews. In 2011 alone, our travellers submitted more than 650,000 new Guest Reviews for hotels across the globe. To ensure authenticity, Expedia verifies each Guest Review by confirming that the reviewer has stayed at the property within the past six months. In order to qualify for the honour of Expedia Insiders' Select inclusion, a hotel has to have received an annual minimum number of reviews.

We systematically compared hotels and resorts to nearby properties with similar star ratings and amenities in order to determine the best value for your money.
