Family holidays in Caribbean
As the quintessential tropical paradise, the Caribbean offers the ideal combination of golden sunshine, emerald waters, and an incredibly laidback, family-friendly environment. Add to that the diversity of the countless islands, and you and your family are in for an irresistible treat...
When to go
Late winter and early spring are ideal, although this is the high tourist season and can be crowded and expensive.
Top tip
Caribbean food can be hit and miss, so book all inclusive for guaranteed great grub!
Food
Caribbean food centres around the region’s exceptionally fresh fish, as well as local spices and fruit. Milder options are nearly always available, and most restaurants offer fast food such as burgers if your children aren't tempted by the regional cuisine. Restaurants are welcoming towards children, and some offer designated kids’ eating areas.
Entertainment
Both children and adults will have a long list of choices when it comes to entertainment in the Caribbean. Hotels and resorts provide activities such as tennis, scuba diving lessons, water sports and basketball, and the natural environment is blessed with options such as swimming, nature walks and unspoilt waterfalls to play in.
