Surfing the Soup
Amateur surfer riding a wave, Barbados
  Rick Doyle/Corbis
Bathsheba's "Soup Bowl" on the rocky east coast is where the big waves churn and competitive surfers hang ten. Short, long, and body boards can be seen skimming the curls here. You'll also see odd mushroom-shaped rocks that loom over the shore at Bathsheba. On gentler sides of the island you can get a good look at what's underwater with snorkelling or diving gear.
