Fine fruit
Barbados resident at his tropical fruit stand Bajans are proud of their homegrown fruit. It was here in the 1700s that the grapefruit was developed. This cross between an orange and a pummelo grows in grape-like clusters, hence the name. If you're visiting during July, you'll be swept up in the traditional festival of Crop Over, which celebrates the end of sugar cane harvest with calypso bands and parades.
