Week 7

|
On arrival in Kefalonia, you're instantly struck by the absolutely spectacular scenery - and the number of goat herds that wander the roads!
Myrtos Beach is reached via a steep, winding road that can get very busy during the summer, so arrive early or be prepared for a bit of a walk. The shore is mostly made up of coarse sand and spectacularly white pebbles that have to be seen to be believed.
Although there are toilets down on the beach here, there's little in the way of other facilities so come prepared - once you've parked your car you're unlikely to want to move it until you have to and the nearest shops are a car ride away.
The rest of the island has some great places to visit like an underwater lake or the picturesque Fiskardo fishing village.
As with many places in Greece, the sea near the shore has incredible patches of green and blue - truly one of the clearest seas ever seen.
