Week 2

|
Mahé is the main island in the Seychelles and, because the government are very concerned with conserving as much as possible of the inland vegetation, it is beautifully lush and green. The people are friendly and laid back, always ready to greet you with a smile and a helping hand.
Fairyland Beach, close to Ile Souris on the south-western coast of Mahé is slightly different from other beaches around the island, as it's busy and full of young people and some families. But with so many beautiful beaches to explore any visitor is bound to find the perfect spot for them.
Although the sea gets deep quite quickly here, dangerous currents are rarely found, so it is a lot safer compared to some beaches on the west coast and the southern tip.
As Fairyland moves further south, it becomes anse Royale ('anse' being the Creole for beach) which on the whole seems to be a quieter and more secluded area.
Along with the local hospitality comes the delicious Creole cooking. There are several quality restaurants dotted around Mahe, and although they can be quite pricey, they are well worth a visit.
