Week 6

|
The coastline of Dickenson's Bay is situated slightly north of the main town of St. Johns. It is made up of a stunning group of beaches, each as quiet and secluded as the next. Access to the shore is difficult in places as the various properties like to fence off their particular section of sand but there are public tracks here and there and the effort is well worth it.
All the usual beach sports are available in the area, but the highlight of Dickenson's Bay is a centre where you can swim with dolphins in a quiet lagoon.
Accommodation consists mostly of privately let, two-storey apartments but there are a couple of hotels in the area as well, with a more upmarket resort situated on the furthest north beach.
Road signs are nearly non-existent in Antigua. If you decide to travel to the bay under your own steam from a different area of the island, then get a good map or ask directions before you set off otherwise you may well end up taking the long (the very long!) way round.
