 If you like big pick up trucks, superbikes and cars with big spoilers then Daytona Beach is the place for you. For a small charge you can drive onto the beach, park up and sunbathe by your car. Once you get bored with the beach you can browse around the bike shops dotted around the town.
Daytona is the home of the annual Bike Week. It's one full week each year of motorbike mayhem and is perhaps for the serious Hell's Angel wannabes only. Even when this event is not taking place, it isn't the best place for families with small children due to the vast numbers of trucks and bikes on the beach.
 All the main tourist attractions in the area (Universal Studios, Disney, Kennedy Space Centre) are within a few hours drive from Daytona, so it's a good base from which to explore for a few days as long as you're not expecting a quiet time!
