Week 1

|
To get to Camp's Bay from Cape Town, head south past the last of Clifton's secluded beaches, pass over the spur from the hill called 'Lion's Head' and gently drop down into the Bay. It's a huge open and expansive area, and you're struck immediately by the majestic backdrop of the Twelve Apostles, a range of vast greeny-grey cliffs set back from the coast that gently shelve towards the sea. These cliffs, along with Lion's Head, really give the beach and surrounding area that special WOW factor
Camps Bay is a good mixture of all the other beaches on the Cape. It manages to be glamorous (like Clifton) while still being fine for families (like Fish Hoek). It is sheltered and safe enough (like The Boulders) but still has a great little surf area to the north (like a mini Llandudno)
The beach itself is ultra-clean, has an uncluttered atmosphere and a friendly welcome.
There is so much to see and do in Cape Town, take a trip to the gorgeous vineyards or visit Robben Island where Nelson Mandela was in prison. But whatever you do, make sure you watch the sunset over Table Mountain - it's an incredible sight.
