At the same time as booking a flight on their website, to any of bmi’s 38 world-wide destinations currently on sale, customers can make great savings by bundling together their selection of hotel accommodation, insurance, car hire, car parking, excursions, tours and restaurant bookings with the flight in a single transaction. Customers can also benefit from the peace of mind and protection that IACT’s ATOL bond brings to their holiday purchase. The deal, awarded to IACT following a competitive tender, means bmi can broaden its product mix, provide flybmi.com customers with a one stop travel shop, and enable customers to receive great savings by packaging together their own holidays, weekend breaks and business trips. The airline becomes the first in Europe to use the IACT dynamic packaging product, and the deal represents further expansion into Europe of the IACT Private Label solution, following huge success in the U.S. Adrian Parkes, bmi commercial director, said: “We are always keen to invest in new technology that will be of direct benefit to our customers and our business. IACT’s market leading technology and the breadth and depth of supply behind it will boost our product offering enormously. bmi passengers can now book holiday extras and make great savings at the same time. This is also a great opportunity for bmi to sell more flights as well as hotels.” David Roche, Director of New Channels Development at IACT, added: “More and more travel companies are realising the potential of dynamic packaging and the benefits it can bring to their company and their customers. “It was clear from discussions with bmi that IACT’s dynamic packaging provides them with an advanced platform with which to offer their customers greater choice and the opportunity to make great savings at the time of booking. “We’re delighted to add bmi, as our first European airline packaging partner, to the existing portfolio of companies successfully using our technology and inventory, and look forward to working with them closely in the future,” he continued.
