Disabled Facilities:
Assistance for disabled travellers is available from airlines and/or travel agencies, but passengers are required to arrange this in advance. The airport is fully accessible with lifts, ramps and electronic revolving doors that adjust their speed to the respective passenger; wheelchair-accessible toilets are situated on all levels. There are also wheelchair-accessible telephones available. Reserved parking is clearly marked. Europcar provides hire cars for disabled drivers; reservations must be made in advance.
Conference and Business Facilities:
Meeting and conference facilities accommodating up to 400 people are available at the Wöllhaf Conference and Banqueting Centre (tel: (0711) 948 2700; www.airport-konferenz.de). Rooms are equipped with Internet access, projectors, a sound system, a variable blackout facility, sound proofing and air conditioning.
Information and Help Desks:
There is a central information and help desk (tel: (0711) 22280) in Terminal 3, on level 2 (Arrivals) with multi-lingual staff. All terminals have information pillars including courtesy telephones for passenger information.
Car Parks:
Short-term parking is available in car parks P1 and P3, and the covered garages P4 and P6; for long-term, use car parks P0, P2 (covered), P8 (covered), P10 (covered) and P11 (covered); the first hour of parking in P0 is free. Long-term parking is also available in P4 during the summer holidays and can be reserved in advance (tel: (0711) 948 4452). Car parks are open 24 hours. Parking is also available at the P-Hotel car park.
Driving Directions:
The airport is located just off Autobahn (motorway) A8 Karlsruhe-Munich. Take the exit Stuttgart-Flughafen (no.53), or Bundesstrasse B27, and follow the signs for either Arrivals (Ankunft) or Departures (Abflug). See the airport’s website for detailed maps.
Public Transport and taxis:
Rail: The airport is connected to central Stuttgart by commuter trains S2 (Schorndorf) and S3 (Backnang), which both serve Stuttgart central station (journey time - 30 minutes). Stuttgart central station is served by S-Bahn trains for destinations throughout Stuttgart, and high-speed intercity, express and regional trains to destinations throughout Germany. The S-Bahn station is in Terminal 1 level 1.
Bus: There are several direct bus links to destinations in and around Stuttgart, departing from outside Terminal 1 Arrivals level.
Taxi: There is a 24-hour taxi service to Stuttgart (journey time - 20 minutes); the taxi rank is situated in front of Terminal 1 level 3 (Departures).
