Disabled Facilities:

The terminals have been designed to facilitate the independent mobility of the disabled. Adapted toilets and spacious lifts can be found on every floor. Disabled parking spaces are available in front of both terminals and in the parking facilities. Information desks are equipped with induction loops. Staff has been specially trained to cater for passengers needing assistance. It is recommended to notify the airline of any special needs, such as use of wheelchair or oxygen tank, when booking travel. The airline can also look after unaccompanied minors, i.e. children travelling alone.

Conference and Business Facilities:

Helsinki Airport Congress, located in the Terminal 2, has nine meeting rooms, the largest with seating for up to 140 persons. The facilities are equipped with the latest audiovisual and communications systems.

The Scandic Gateway Hotel (tel: (09) 818 3600; www.scandic-hotels.com/gateway) features a private room with adjacent sauna, for 2-6 persons, while the Hilton Helsinki-Vantaa Airport Hotel (tel: (09) 73 220; www.hilton.com) has an extensive range of meetings and conference facilities with capacity for up to 350.

A VIP service offers check-in, security screening, passport control and customs inspections, assistance in shopping and exchanging currency, in private VIP facilities at the VIP Centre in the Terminal 2 or at the separate VIP President Terminal catering to larger groups.

Driving Directions:

From Helsinki city centre, drive north along Tuusula road (Hwy 45) and follow signs for the airport. From the west and the east, get on Kehä III (Hwy E18 or Hwy 50) and follow signs for the airport.

Public Transport and taxis:

Bus: YTV buses to Helsinki city centre (415, 451 and 615) depart from outside both terminals (journey time - 40 minutes). More services run to other destinations (tel: 0100 111; www.ytv.fi/journeyplanner). The Finnair City Bus (tel: (09) 818 503; www.finnair.fi) also runs to Helsinki city centre.
Taxi: Taxi ranks are located in front of both terminals (journey time to Helsinki - 30 minutes).
