Airport News: A new Inter-island Terminal 2 is planned for mid-2004; the new terminal will process passenger traffic between the islands of the Canary archipelago and will be connected to the old terminal.
Driving Directions: The airport is clearly signposted. From the capital, Arrecife, take the Autovia Arrecife-Yaiza (LZ-2) and follow signs for the airport.
Car Parking: There are 1,120 car parking spaces available at the airport; the first 30 minutes are free, after which the charge is calculated on an hourly basis.
Public Transport: Road: Taxi: Taxis are available at the airport and depart from taxi ranks next to Arrivals. Bus: Buses operate to/from Arrecife-Playa Honda bus station on bus no.4. The bus station is situated next to Arrivals.
Information and Help Desks: There is an airport information desk (tel: (0)928 846 001) on the Departures floor. Tourist information is provided by the Lanzarote Island Council office in the Arrivals hall (tel: (0)928 846 073). Information desks will also be available in the new terminal on the public concourse.
Airport Facilities: Money and communications: There are several ATMs located throughout the airport, and a bureau de change at the Travel 2000 office in Departures, on the second floor. Eating and drinking: Facilities include cafés, bars, restaurants, an ice cream parlour and fast-food outlets, many of which are located in Departures, after security. There is also a cafeteria in the Arrivals hall. Shopping: Shops are mostly located in Departures, after security. The new terminal, once completed, will also have extensive shopping facilities, both before and after security. Luggage: There are no left-luggage facilities at the airport. Lost property facilities are located on the Departures floor (tel: (0)928 846 001). Other facilities: There is a pharmacy on the public concourse, and first aid on the Arrivals level.
Conference and Business Facilities: A Guacimeta VIP Lounge (tel: (0)928 846 345) is equipped with business facilities, including telephones and Internet access. Fax and photocopying facilities are available at the lottery outlet, on the main concourse.
Disabled Facilities: Disabled facilities include ramps, a lift, accessible doors and toilets; there are also designated areas outside Departures and Arrivals where disabled passengers can be dropped-off or picked-up. Airlines can provide travellers with wheelchairs; passengers should request this service when booking their ticket. Designated car parking spaces are provided.
