“Good location but lousy hotel”

The location is amazing, just 2 minutes from the train statioin. However the service is so so and the hotel is badly beaten down and old. From carpet stains to old dirty kettels. Location is the only seller, otherwise it got no attraction.

“Excellent for overnight train stops”

Generally very good, albeit expensive, but that is more about Switerland and Zurich in particular, stayed overnight changing trains and very handy for the station. Nice hotel, but limited dealings with staff, checked in and checked out only, didn't eat in but plenty of choices locally.

“Good location”

Good location but littel bit noisy of the trums. Room condition is new. Elevators are small. Hotel location is near the train station and shopping streets.

“Close to train but room needs to be ready by check-in time”

This hotel as good as any to use as base to explore Zurich. The service First impressions were mixed. We arrived at 1.40 pm after flight from Oslo and train from airport to Zurich central station. Check-in time was 2pm but the person at reception said our room would not be ready by then. Did not understand why she waited until end of check- in procedure to check with housekeeping whether room was ready. We were invited to bide our time at their outside cafe. There was no space there but we found a very friendly and cheaper lunch spot around the corner. On the plus side, after four weeks in Scandanavia it was nice to have someone help with our bags and show us the features of our room. After a hot day exploring Zurich we were ready to settle down in our quite comfortable room and have room service - that is until we saw the unrealistic prices. We found our own makings of dinner for a much lower price at nearby well stocked food market in the rail station. A warning about the location re street noise (we were on level 5): Zurich's wonderful trams run on street alongside hotel and their noise and that of people out for Saturday night celebrations did intrude on attempts for an early night. Breakfast was not included and the hotel breakfastbbuffetbagain a very expensive option although their street cafe offered reasonably priced croissants and coffee.

“Nick Zurich Overnight Stop”

An excellent hotel for an overnight stop, as it is just a couple of hundred yards (walkable) from the main railway station, and the old town and its sights and restaurants is walkable too. Facilities very good. Cannot comment on the food as we left early before breakfast!

“Good hotel, very convenient”

A great hotel for the price. If you are travelling by train, you can't beat the location, which is only a block from the station and in a nice area. Absolutely no complaints.

“Great hotel close to train station”

Location is just blocks away from the train station. Room was large, clean and very well-maintained, and had great lighting. A nice combination of old world charm in the common areas, coupled with modern guest rooms.

Getting around

Very happy to have purchased a Swiss Pass, which provided unlimited travel on trains, buses, boats, etc. Good value for the money if you plan to be visiting multiple cities.

Outdoors or beach

Uetliberg provides decent hiking opportunities very close to Zurich; otherwise go to Mt. Rigi. With the Swiss Pass you can go up to both for free

“Fantastic Location”

We went to celebrate a special birthday for a long weekend, so wanted something central. What a great hotel location. Just off the train and through the station and hotel was just off the main shopping district, Less than 2 mins walk. All the shopping you could want and a 15 walk to Zurich Lake. We also purchased a train pass which allowed travel to several zones and took full advantage. Went to Mount Zurich on the train a fab walk to the Hotel at the top with some fantastic views. Fab restuarants within easy walking of the hotel, but you can walk further to the main lively district if you so wish. Had a great time although expensive would not put me off going again and would definitely recommend the hotel.

“Excellent location and value for money”

The Hotel is centrally located and it is dificult to beat it form that point. As usual rooms are smaller in europe than standrd US rooms but that is the way it is. Take the delux room for the small up charge it is worth it. The hotel also has an AC that works
