“Great apart from breakfast”

“Beautiful Boutique Hotel”

The hotel is walking distance to the main railway station in Zurich. A little noisy around the hotel on the weekends due to it's location. The double rooms were absolutely beautiful decorated, modern and clean. The breakfast buffet was basic but sufficient with friendly service. I would recommend this hotel if someone is not looking for a massive 5 Star Hotel but wants something small but still very nice.

“Nice quiet hotel”

The hotel is in a perfect location and the overall decor is very chic. The only fault with this hotel is the fact that they have the air conditioning turned up very high, so the rooms do get a little stuffy. Fortunately you can open a window!

“Perfect location and amenitites”

We were very pleased with our stay. We would recommend it to family or friends who might travel to Zurich. The bonus was an excellent breakfast buffet. The hotel was very clean and the room surpassed our expectations.

“Perfect Position”

5 minute walk from the train station or If you take the tram from the airport its stops virtually outside the hotel at "central stop". You are one street away from the river front and back on to the main tourist restaurant/bar street. Modern rooms and the usual extra's, minibar, coffee machine and TV. Typical continental breakfast, good choice .

Getting around
Buy the Zurich Card, givevs unlimited travel within certain zones. You can use it to get from the airport. Can be used on all the trams and buses. You can also use it on a river boat trip and a lake boat trip.

“Nice hotel”

Good position on the edge of the Old part of Zurich and, even better, just a short walk to the central rail station. Rooms very comfortable and good breakfast. Staff helpful with showing you where to visit in Zurich, especially as we were only there for 2 nights on our rail journey to Italy. Value for money Zurich wise as this is a very expensive part of the Globe

Area recommendations
Its just good to drift around all the old streets of Zurich, but head up to a small Park called Lidenhof on Fortunagasse and you have a great view of the city across the river to the lake. Also the many trips on the lake are a must

“A great find”

We were upgraded upon checked-in and were delighted to find a clean and spacious room on the 2nd floor. The hotel was newly renovated and had all the basic modern amenities that one would appreciate. Continental Breakfast was included in our package and it offered a good selection of choices. Best part of the hotel is the location: less than 5 min walk into the old town and the water-front, with shops and restaurants all around. It was also a short walk (8-10min) to the main train station where you can catch a non-stop train to the airport and be there in less than half an hour. Some reviewers had complained about noise. I realized that when I opened the window in the bathroom, it was indeed very noisy in the street below. However, the window shut out most of the noise and we had the air-con on while we were sleeping and were not bothered at all. Highly recommended.

“Clean, convenient, and not too expensive”

Zürich is one of the most expensive cities in the world, so to find a hotel like the Ruetli, which is not expensive, and also conveniently located and very clean, is a great find. The room was a little funky, under the eves with skylights for windows, but it was clean, the staff were pleasant, and the breakfast with complimentary English language newspapers was more than satisfying. I would definitely stay at the Ruetli the next time I'm in Zürich. .

Area recommendations
Zürich is a great city in which to walk around and explore the sites. I particularly enjoyed the Kunsthaus art gallery and Schweizerisches Landesmuseum, and the boat trip on the Zürichsee.
